Last March members of the National Health & Wellness Club each received a free bar of Oh Honey, Honey, Patchouli Orange and Cold Snap soap to do some product testing, and could either approve or not approve the soap.

Here's what some of them had to say about our soaps:

Wonderful scents; leaves my skin feeling soft with no soapy residue. Great price. Overall a superior product. I've used only natural soaps for years. This product is a great buy. I've paid more for a lesser quality bar of soap. - Marjorie S.

Just received the soap yesterday and I am hooked on it! My skin feels so soft after just one test. There are 3 fragrances to try and I know I will love all three. I think it's a great product, oddly enough I use Burt Bee's soap, so I really had something to compare to. I love that it lists everything that its made of and its 'a lot' cheaper than Burt's. I have 'very' sensitive skin, so I have to know exactly what's in the soap. I love the smells, the price, and it removes mascara a lot better than Burt's Bees. The Cold Snap soap, Burt's has one, but i didn't like Burt's and it had no lather at all. The first morning I used it I was still sleepy, but it brought me alive!! I've tried natural soaps before, but this brand had more fragrance, even my husband commented on its fragrance. I used Oh Honey, Honey! he tried Cold Snap just before bed and said it opened his stuffed nose and made it easier to fall asleep. We recommended the product to our friends and family. - Ellenor G.

I recommend this product because of the way it made my skin feel and the pleasant aroma it has. I have very sensitive skin but this soap did not irritate me in any way. I will be ordering more of it in the future. I was very uneasy about trying it because of my sensitive but was very glad I did after feeling the softness of my skin afterwards. This soap is wonderful. It had clean, fresh scents that were not overpowering. My son has eczema and liked the Oh Honey, Honey because it was soothing and smelled good. Most soaps he can use don't smell nice. It left my skin moisturized yet feeling clean. I will be purchasing more! - Heather J.

I found the statements in the letter that came with the soap to be precise about the soap. It was and is a joy to use this soap and I am sincerely looking forward to purchasing the other scented soaps to try out and see which scent will become my favorite. I just happened to have a cold the day the soap came in for me to trial. I tried the "Cold Snap", I could smell the soothing spearmint from the package and I felt relief in the shower while I washed with it. The fragrance is not overwhelming, but is present in a soft and subtle tone. I was surprised how well it lathered as well. - Dorothy D.

I felt that the quality of this product was well worth the cost of $4.50 per bar. I liked the fact that the soaps were made from vegetable oils. My skin felt soft after the first use. The scent of the soap was strong but not overwhelming. The aroma scented my whole bathroom. The colors and shape design of the soap is appealing. The soap was well wrapped. - April B.

Using homemade soap brought back many memories and pleasures. When I was a child we made our own soap, nothing fancy but very effective. I found Real Simple Soap to be a luxurious form of our soap. My first experience with hand soap was a very positive one. Fragrance of the soap and its softness to the skin clearly differentiates this product from the store-bought variety. - Mark S.

The natural handmade bars of soap had luxurious lather, moisturizer, and special fragrances. If I was rushed, I felt that I wasn't missing as much if there wasn't enough time to use one of my lotions. My husband also liked it, especially the "Cold Snap!" bar which leaves you with a fresh, crisp, invigorating sensation! The best features are talked about above (scent, moisture, and lather). The great long lasting scents - they stay all the way through the use of each bar - leave a gentle scent behind, but it doesn't interfere with anything that you might add after your shower. The bars are attractive in appearance, last a few days longer than normal moisturizing brands, and I didn't have shavings wasted in the end. - Dorothy S.

These soaps performed better than my expectations. They lathered quite easily and didn't leave my skin feeling soapy after rinsing as some soaps tend to do. loved the soft, silky feel of my skin after using these soaps!!! - Barbara O.

I have and will continue to recommend this product...I love the way it feels on my skin...The fragrance is awesome...and I feel very relaxed.. This soap is excellent for consumers with allergies, skin problems, and just needing to relax or just getting rid of stress...I LOVE IT...but, the price is a bit too much..- Gloria R.

This soap lathers extremely well and is very good on dry/winter skin. Skin feels smooth even without the use of lotion. Although I really enjoy the results from using the soap, I rarely use bar soap because of the mess it leaves, so I don't know that I would purchase it. If it came in the form of a soft soap, I would by it in a heartbeat! - Jennifer S.

I love soaps made with natural ingredients. These soaps are a great size and lathered decently after a couple of uses. I smelled and felt clean for hours. Love the scent. Got my bars while RV'ing in New Mexico in March and opened one bar immediately. The scent from the soap was better than any air freshener in our small 5th wheel. Cold Snap was my favorite. I didn't have a cold but it did relax me and was great in the bath and shower. Patchouli Orange the fragrance was too much for me, but as it was used more I was very happy with the lather and softness of all the oils. Oh Honey Honey I also had to use over and over before I found that I really like it. I would recommend all of them because of the great lather, softness and long lasting. - Kathy H.

The soap lathered well and left no residue. It had a nice scent but did not linger on the skin. I used it to wash my hair and it made my hair soft and manageable. I would not recommend it for oily skin or hair though. The soap did not dissolve away as some soaps do. I was pleased with the soap and the price is comparable to other specialty soaps. - Ruth R.

Didn't dry my skin out like a lot of homemade soaps do. Some of the scents were a little strong for my sensitive nose especially since I've been suffering from seasonal allergies lately. I was surprised at how mild it seemed to my skin and how good it lathered.- Sandy M.
